Reflection

The cake did not turn out as I had expected, probably because too much sugar was used in the icing. Furthermore, due to time constraints, I did not wait for the cake to cool before I added the icing. This resulted in the icing melting, which make it look sadly appalling. The icing was also too sweet, as I added caster sugar, which I should not have done. If I could redo the dish, I would have put less sugar and removed the icing. I could also have replaced the butter icing with egg white icing or whipped cream, which would have tasted way better.

Time was also quite a constrain, as I did not clean as I was baking, which I should have done. I was too paranoid over the time of when the cake was going to be baked, which resulted in me not cleaning up properly as I should have done. If I could redo the dish, I would have made use of the timer in my phone to set the time, so that I could do what I need as the cake was baking.

However, I think my cake itself turned out pretty well, and as my friend pointed out, it fitted it's name "berry blast". The cherries and strawberries really blended into the cake, which was really cool. It was not what I had expected, but still pretty cool.

All in all, I think it was a great experience, which allowed me to see my weaknesses. I enjoyed trying my friends' food, and I think they were all very good, especially Abby's cheesecake, Nichelle's cookies and Abigail's cookies, which I was so addicted to.
